Gulf is an iconic brand in the world of motorsport , having proven itself since its beginnings in motorsport during the 1930s as a fuel supplier for racing teams .

Gulf was able to position itself as dominant during the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, particularly in 1967 where it sponsored the Ford GT40 team which won the race that year.

It is therefore to pay tribute to the brand that GPO wanted to offer this model to its customers .
